Summer glau

Firefly the new Whedon hit show, grew out of a one-off show. Her River Tam character was complex and Glau did a great job of handling it. The character of Summer Glau, Tam was forced into government tests so that she could be prepared to play an ideal assassin. Tam did not have control over her emotions as a result. Glau got the chance to display not just her acting talents, but her combat skills in Firefly. It was also evident that being trained to be an assassin allowed Glau to make the most of her athletic abilities. The classical background of Summer Glau is what makes her an extremely skilled ballerina. She also has studied flamenco and tango, however an injury to her foot caused her to stop dancing. Firefly was only on for one season, but it gained a huge follower base. Whedon returned to the show after a few years. Summer Glau, however, continued to receive quality work.
